This system is manufactured in the UK of 304 grade, polished Stainless Steel. It is hygenic, durable, corrosion resistant and easy to clean. This system comes complete with 2 Doulton filters and 2 x PF-4 Fluoride reduction elements.

Doulton filters can be used to filter alternative water supplies and are used by military, aid and relief organisations and missionaries around the world. Perfect for camping, caravaning & travel. Set up is approx. 50 cms high and 22 cms wide. Packs into a box 40cmx30cmx30cm.

This cutaway graphic shows the two chambers, each of which holds 8 litres (excluding the capacity consumed by the filters).

This system is designed to filter the top chamber of unfiltered water, storing the filtered water in the bottom chamber.

Please note this system does not have a seal between the two chambers, therefore can be overfilled if adding more water to the top chamber than what is dispensed from the bottom chamber.

This system comes complete with 2 x Doulton Supersterasyl Ceramic Filters and 2 x PF-4 Fluoride Elements

The Doulton Filters are made in England and will filter absolute to 0.9 microns.  The PF-4 elements are made in the U.S.A. and will remove no less than 95% of fluoride for the lifetime of the filter. Independent test results show removal of up to 98-99%. These are the filters we believe are most effective for removing the greatest amount of sodium fluoride that is added to some town water supplies. 

Flow rate will filter optimally 2 litres per hour depending on water quality. The PF-4 Fluoride Elements will reduce the this flow rate by approximately 30%.Will filter absolute to 0.9 of a micron and down to 0.2 of a micron. 

The Doulton ceramic filters needs to be replaced every 4000 Litres of water filtered, approx 24 months when using 5-6 Litres per day. The PF-4 Fluoride Elements will last 2000 Litres, approx 12 months when using 5-6 Litres per day.

Higher levels of chlorine, chemical contamination, or sediment, will slightly shorten the life of the filters.

How it works: Simply add water to the top chamber, which sits on top of the main storage container. Under the force of gravity the water first passes through the micro porous ceramic walls of the filter. The inside of the walls of the Doulton filter are impregnated with silver. The silver acts as a natural biocide to keep the water inside your filter, and also your stored water, pure. Then the water passes through the activated carbon filled core of the filter. From there it passes through the PF-4 fluoride reduction elements, dripping into the bottom storage chamber.

            PF-4 FLUORIDE REDUCTION ELEMENTS:

Contain inert high-grade activated alumina, an efficient way for reducing fluoride from drinking water.This element works in conjunction 

with a Doulton filter, and will reduce unwanted impurities by "adsorption".

Fluoride by : >95%, Lead, Arsenic, MTBE, DBCP, THM"s, Herbicides+Pesticides, & heavy metal ions.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION:

*Fluoride : Testing for fluoride was based on 20-30ppm of the ion in the influent aqueous solution at a flow rate of no more than 3 gpm (11 lpm) per cubic foot of media. Results of 95% reduction). Under optimum conditions, effluent concentrations of less than 50 ppb were readily achieved (>99.75% reduction).
*Arsenic: This product uniquely targets the entire family of arsenic oxide anions as well as the arsenic cations.

*Lead: Tests have shown that when 7,500 litres of influent water at a concentration of lead of 150-200 ppb pass through 200 grams of media at a flow rate of 1gp , the lead level was reduced to less than 1ppb (99% reduction).

*MTBE (Methyl-terteiary-butyl-ether): Berkey PF-4™ elements are manufactured to exceed ANSI/NSF standard 53 which requires that MTBE be reduced by at least two thirds from an influent rate (water going out) of less than 5ppb (>95% reduction*) *Actual capacity is dependent on the presence of other competing contaminants in the source water. High levels of total organic carbons and volatile organic compounds may reduce the capacity and efficiency of the elements.
